YouTuber Kagwang, with approximately 470,000 subscribers, has been embroiled in allegations of abusing and financially exploiting a woman who appeared in his Thailand travel broadcasts, with shocking claims ranging from the destruction of crutches to food restrictions, sleep deprivation, and forced drinking. A person identified as the woman's attorney alleged that the woman, recovering from artificial hip replacement surgery, had her crutches broken during filming in Thailand, was subjected to restricted meals, sleep deprivation and forced drinking allegedly tied to viewer donations, and was prevented from leaving despite expressing a wish to go home, with alleged financial exploitation involving the taking of more than 10 million won ($7,550). The attorney claimed they requested emergency protection from the South Korean Embassy in Thailand to remove the woman from the situation and planned to file complaints against those involved on charges including abuse, coercion, unlawful confinement and assault upon her return to South Korea. On October 25, Kagwang posted a YouTube video titled 'Explanation regarding the controversy over an intellectually disabled woman' on his channel, directly stating his position by saying, 'I am currently in the midst of a controversy due to suspicions that I abused an intellectually disabled woman. This is not true.' In his response video, Kagwang detailed text messages between himself and the woman he names as Ingwi. The currently disclosed information consists of claims made by the author of the posts, and specific facts require further verification.
