Ukrainian-born content creator Vladyslav Morhulets, known as Rendy Vlad, has been banned from TikTok following his removal from Instagram for repeated violations of bullying and harassment policies. The 21-year-old influencer filmed interactions with members of the public using smart glasses, often without their knowledge or consent.
A Cork-based social media personality's TikTok account has been removed just days after his Instagram profile was taken down. Vladyslav Morhulets, 21, who operated under the username Rendy_Vlad, posted videos of interactions filmed using smart glasses, often without the subjects' knowledge. Meta confirmed earlier this week that it had removed his Instagram account, which had nearly 12,000 followers, citing repeated violations of its bullying and harassment policies. The creator had a much larger presence on TikTok, with 1.1 million followers and a combined 13.6 million likes on his videos. His content included footage of a young woman experiencing a medical emergency in Cork city centre, interactions with retail staff, and what he called "pranks" in which he pretended to give money to vulnerable people before taking it back. According to TikTok, some content had already been flagged and removed from his account, but following further investigation, the company decided to ban the account entirely. A Meta spokesperson stated: "We don't tolerate harassing content, however it was captured, and have removed the account @rendy_vlad for repeatedly violating our bullying and harassment policies." TikTok confirmed it does not allow content that harasses or bullies others, citing violations of its community guidelines.
