V Harish, who operated the Instagram account 'Finance With Harish' with over 1.3 million followers, died by suicide at his residence in Muttukadu, Chennai on October 20. His father filed a police complaint against Jason Samuel, CEO of venture studio Zemuria Inc, alleging Jason had posted a "defamatory video" that resulted in cyberbullying and claiming the pressure and accusations forced Harish to take his own life. Samuel had accused Harish of offering financial advice and asking his followers to invest money without being registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

V Harish, 27, ran the Instagram account 'Finance With Harish' with over 1.3 million followers and was a well-known figure in Tamil Nadu's content creator community. A few days before his death, Harish's Instagram account was suspended over allegations of illegal activity. The tragedy has now triggered a major investigation involving allegations of cyberbullying against another YouTuber. Jason Samuel is the CEO of Zemuria Inc, a venture studio, and a YouTuber who is known for calling out other creators. According to Harish's father's complaint, Jason published videos and posts on October 18 accusing Harish of fraud and misleading the public. Samuel raised two main charges: that Harish gave investment advice without being registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Harish's father, J Vinayagam, filed a police complaint against Samuel with the Kanathur police station in Chennai, alleging that Jason had posted a "defamatory video" against Harish, which resulted in cyberbullying. According to reports, the police have filed a case of abetment to suicide against Jason. However, Samuel denied the claims, saying he only pointed out that Harish "misrepresented" facts. Harish's death has set off a heated debate in Tamil Nadu's creator community. The incident raises serious questions about the responsibility of content creators who expose alleged misconduct and the potential consequences of public callouts on vulnerable individuals.
