Snoop Dogg Hosts 2026 MTV Video Music Awards as Ceremony Returns to West Coast

Snoop Dogg will host the 2026 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS as the show returns to the West Coast for the first time since 2017. The 2026 VMAs are set to air live coast-to-coast from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 27 (7:30-9:30 p.m., ET/4:30-6:30 p.m., PT) on CBS, simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+ (Premium) in the U.S. Snoop Dogg has picked up 13 VMA nominations and three wins, having made his VMA main stage debut in 1994, closed the 1999 show alongside Dr. Dre and Eminem, performed a Notorious B.I.G. tribute in 2005, and reunited with Eminem in 2022 for a metaverse-inspired performance. In his statement about the hosting role, Snoop shared that "MTV and the VMAs have been part of my story since the beginning," noting "some of the biggest moments of my career happened on that stage and on MTV," and calling hosting "a full-circle moment." Madonna, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter lead the VMAs nominations, with performers and presenters still to be announced. Nirvana has been selected as this year's Video Vanguard recipient. Snoop will also serve as an executive producer this time around.
