The event, which served as this year's Royal Film Performance—an annual celebration supporting The Film and TV Charity—transformed the entire Leicester Square into a grand cinematic spectacle featuring set pieces, oversized props from the film, and blown-up photographs of Cruise's character. Princess Kate stunned in a floor-length purple Jenny Packham gown, accessorizing with the Queen Mother's historic Amethyst Sautoir Necklace—a piece gifted to Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon on her 1923 wedding day—as well as earrings that belonged to the late Princess Diana. Prince William complemented his wife's elegance with a striking black velvet suit jacket. Director Alejandro González Iñárritu brought his distinctive vision to the project, with Cruise describing the role to GQ as "the culmination of all my skills. I've never done it before." The film is scheduled for theatrical release on October 2, 2026 in the United States and September 30 internationally, distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
